What's Happening on Thursday of festival week?
Thursday during the day is primarily for school children on storytelling field trips. The fee for home school students and their parents is $3.00 per session.
The fee for adults attending the Thursday daytime sessions is $6.00, which includes both the 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. sessions.   On Thursday night at 7:30 pm, there will be an olio program, a storytelling sampler with all of our featured tellers. This olio will be held at The Storytelling & Arts Center, 131 S. Main St. in Laurinburg. There are a limited number of tickets for the olio. All tickets are $5.00 each and should be reserved in advance to guarantee seating. This event is usually very well attended.
This will be a good opportunity to preview the tellers and pick out your favorites for the Friday and Saturday performances on the grounds at the John Blue House.

Are CEU's available for festival attendance?
For the festival itself there are no CEU's awarded, however on festival days, Donald Davis, Gene Tagaban, Doug Elliott and Eth-Noh-Tec will each conduct a one-hour workshop in a subject related to storytelling.  No two workshops are scheduled in the same hour making it possible for our guests to attend all four workshops if they choose.  To those who attend workshops, a certificate for .1 (1/10) CEU is awarded for each workshop attended.  Guests who are registered with single day admissions are eligible to attend the workshops on the day they are registered.   Guests who are registered for the full festival are eligible to attend all workshops.  There is a separate charge of $5.00 for each workshop.  A brief description of each workshop will be found at our "Workshops" link.
